Soapy Goodness
I’ve been watching soaps, namely Days of Our Lives, since my junior year of high school, which was, well, awhile ago. Over the years, I’ve watched Days pretty regularly, but on occasion, depending on my schedule and how bored I was, sometimes I’d watch other soaps as well. I watched Sunset Beach most of the time it was on. I watched a bit of Port Charles. I’ve watched All My Children on and off. (Ryan and Erica together really grosses me out.) I’ve also watched General Hospital on and off, depending on whether the storylines were sucking me in or not. (Too much mob stuff = not so exciting.)
Lately I’ve been really enjoying Days of Our Lives. I love the soapy deliciousness that is having Melanie be Carly’s long lost daughter, especially with Melanie marrying Philip who is Victor’s son who lives with Vivian aka Carly’s nemesis. So Days right now? Pretty awesome.
But you know what’s been even more awesome? General Hospital. Namely because of Dominic/Dante and Lulu. I’m not really one to go nuts over a soap opera couple, but Dante and Lulu? Awesome. Seriously. I love that their relationship has progressed slowly (by soap standards) and that they’ve proclaimed their love for each other without jumping into bed first. I’ve watched enough GH to know that Lulu’s love interests have kind of lacked a spark, but with Dante? Awesome.
Also awesome? Kristina and Morgan calling Sonny out on his evil doings. Such a refreshing change of pace from people just sweeping Sonny’s evil doings under the rug, even though I know he’ll inevitably get away with shooting Dante. YOU SHOT YOUR SON, SONNY. /cue blank look on Sonny’s face
Yeah, I kind of look forward to watching General Hospital every day now. I am not ashamed. It is awesome.
