I’m not really an NBA fan. I’ve made plenty of snarky comments about Kobe Bryant. However, I have to say it was nice to see the guys on Team USA, including Kobe, look genuinely happy and thrilled to win a gold medal today. Watching that game was pretty fun.

I think it’s awesome that more than half the country (i.e. those of us not in the Eastern time zone), actually saw the postgame coverage of the U.S.-Argentina basketball game before the game itself had starting airing here. Goodness knows it was much more important to see Meredith Vieira and friends than to show an actual Olympic event live to those of us on the left side of the country...

I think it’s interesting that the gymnast with the missing tooth, Deng Linlin, isn’t ever mentioned in these articles. He Kexin does look super young, but I think Deng Linlin looks even younger.

Okay, so that stupid extra innings tiebreaker rule is still stupid, but at least the U.S. managed to pull off a win. It was pretty crazy how the U.S. only had something like two or three hits over ten innings, but as soon as they start an inning with two runners on, they exploded offensively.
